I was in love once.

It was incredibly boring.

The elusiveness

can only be given

in a poem.

It can be redefined

in any poem.

The objectivity

Nothing is good or bad

unless by permission.

Merry predators

On the roof

big bad

bright white

herring gulls nest

Clarity

Naked

out of context

brightly lit

full frontal.

Time’s on their side

They attack 

so slowly

and slower till

you’re too tired

to keep your guard up

or even remember

you’re being attacked.
